I've run at tracks with 944 Turbos, they are pretty quick... 250HP and 2900 lbs keeps higher HP and heavier cars honest. There isn't that much of a power advantage for the Z with both cars in stock form.
However, the dealbreaker for the 944 is this:
Dummies routed fuel lines over the exhaust manifold... apparently this is common. This happened at Spokane when I was there for a lapping day... happened out on the track while lapping... everyone was fine, car was finished.
